A Prayer When Frazzled Dear Heavenly Father, When I cannot be still, You calm me. When I cannot hear above the noise, You quiet me. You give me all that I need to accomplish Your will concerning me; And nothing else is my responsibility. I trust You to give me whatever rest, strength, courage, wisdom, and determination I need. What I cannot do, though I pursue, I will rest knowing if it is Your will, that at the right time, it will come more easily to me. For your yoke is easy and your burden is light. You give us all work that we can accomplish through You for Your kingdom. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

APrayer for Right Choices Dear Lord, I know each choice is mine, But I need Your help to get them right: To learn the lessons You’ve prepared to make me wiser And accept the circumstances You’ve allowed to come my way, Always remembering to thank You for each blessing and trial. For I know blessings come in many forms, And trials always have potential to bear good fruit. Stir in my soul passion Bold enough to share Your love. With all whom I meet. Steady my heart to be fixed on You. You alone are my anchor. Focus my attention on You Like a compass fixed on north. Strengthen my body and mind That I will accomplish what You have for me.
A Prayer for My Husband Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for my husband who loves and cares for me as You designed. Thank You for his care when I am not well and his patience when we aren’t on the same page. Thank you for his dedication when I am too sick to meet his needs. Please bless him with the energy, productivity, rest and health needed to live well for You. Please bless his work, that he will be an instrument of Your peace. I pray that each individual he works with and the company for which he works will focus on You, having motives and operations that align with Your great commission. I pray they work honestly and diligently to honor You and further the good news of the Gospel. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
A Prayer before Worship Service Lord, be with us now in the us place as we seek to honor, glorify, and praise You. We know You dwell in our hearts, but please also now show Your mighty presence in this place as we seek to worship You. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
Your Perfect Love What would I do without Your perfect love? Where would I run but to Your sheltering arms? Your strong arms are my confidence. Your protecting hands are my courage. Your guiding touch is my peace.
When I Fall Apart When my world falls apart, and my dreams come crashing down, I know You won’t let me drown. I know that You are near; I know that You care. In You my grief is made bare. So why do I ever run away?
A Prayer Requesting to Live Only in You, Lord Lord God, I am weak, but You are strong. You give me discernment to know right from wrong. Satan wants to trip me up, but You lift me up. There’s confusion surrounding me, but I’ll stand on truth confidently. You created me for Your purpose; You desire for me to be close to You, So I will have Your joy, peace, comfort, and wisdom, So I will rest and be ever-replenished by Your love. What You have for me is not attainable on my own. It requires determination, focus, and trust from me. You require my perseverance in learning and obeying Your Word. You require me to seek You in all my ways. You promise to guide me and never leave nor forsake me. You promise to use everything for my good and Your glory, As I live to honor You and live solely in Your purpose. Let me not miss one blessing or waste one minute, Lagging behind, doubting, frozen in fear and afraid to jump. Help me embrace the truth that You go before me, You prepare my way, Your yoke is easy, and Your burden is light. I know that Your perfect love casts out all fear. I want to be so close to Your side that fear, worry, and doubt Are only shadows fading in my mind. I desire to boldly move forward in Your love and strength To achieve and attain what You have for me. I am only strong in You. I am only focused correctly in Your Word. In You, I can do all things You have for me. In You, I am an effective husbandman in the vineyard You supply. In You, I will point others to You, the truth, and share the hope of Your love. Help me, Lord, to redeem the time, To be efficient and effective with every resource You provide. Help me study Your Word and stay on my knees, So I will know what to do, how to do it, and when. Help me trust You and obey, even when I don’t see the why. I know You provide exactly what I need when I need it, And some things are too high for me to know sometimes. I will trust You and step forward in faith, not knowing every detail of my mission, But fully trusting that Your timing and Your love. I want to walk worthy of Your calling, being faithful and fruitful in Your vineyard, Bringing others to the understanding of Your saving grace. Help me not hate or complain about my situation, Knowing that You’ve allowed every sickness, every hardship, every trial For me to draw closer to You, to receive wisdom, power, patience, and love from You. You are the victory! Help me see every opportunity You provide. Let me not pass it by unrecognized or rejected. You go before me and behind. You teach me where and how to walk. You alone keep me safe! Thank You for every provision You set in my path To encourage me and fill me with Your joy, As I seek to only follow You and know You through Your Word. Help me see how precious and loved by You is everyone surrounding me. I pray that my walk and my speech will testify of Your love, strength, and grace, To cause others to want to know You more, To live for You, to die to You, putting away their old desires And know that only in You, with You, through You will they have the peace they seek. Lord, You are the answer we seek! I praise Your high and holy name; I seek to honor You in all my days with all my ways. In every meeting with every acquaintance, in every circumstance, I need Your wisdom. I desire to see as You, to love as You, To know when to stay, walk away, or run. I know that You are with me, and You will never leave my side. I know that You will perfect that which concerns me, That You will not leave me unfinished. I pray that I never leave Your side, where is all provision, peace, and power I need to succeed in You. Lord, I know that it is not about me, but You don’t forget me; You include me in Your mighty plans. Help me to live for You, so others will see that You extend Your invitation of love to them as well. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. To You be all honor, praise, and glory forever. I ask these things in Jesus Christ’s name, the only name with the power to save, Amen.
Thank You, Lord, for Never Walking Away Even when the clouds of life block my view, I know You are there, watching over me and strengthening me to do all that I should. Thank You for never leaving me to figure things out on my own. Without You, my thinking is flawed and strays far from the truth. You are my anchor, my source for wisdom and peace. Thank You, heavenly Father, for your love.
Thank You, Lord, for Who You Are You are the Almighty who can calm any storm and quiet any thunder. You allow storms in life to draw us closer to You. Your Word says it rains on the just and the unjust. Thank You for carrying us through the storms. Help us not get confused by the chaos and distractions within and without. Help us remain steadfast in you, rightly focused on You, living to honor You as we serve others. Help Christians live as You designed, leading with love, Clearly having compassion for the sinner While never condoning or excusing the sin. Sin is sin. Sin is wrong. Sin is against You. And if I live in sin, I turn others away from You and truth. If I excuse or accept sin, I minimalize Your sacrifice at Calvary, Your sacrifice to pay for all sin. I discredit Your name and truth. Help me love without compromise. Help me obey Your commandments to love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, Putting no thought, idea, ideal, lifestyle, person, or desire ahead of You. Help me to love my neighbor as myself, to do unto others as I want done unto me. Help me truly see and live Your truth, to not become discouraged when things go wrong, To not lose focus on what really counts, to not discredit Your name, Your power, or Your purpose. Only You have the power to save. The only name under heaven with power to access heaven is Jesus Christ, And in that I have no power except the privilege of my relationship with Jesus Christ As my Savior and Lord of my life. Help me live each day showing You are my Lord. Amen.
Thank You for the Privilege of Being Your Child I give my life back to You, the One who made me. Help me not misrepresent You or truth. Help me always represent You in love. Help me live and communicate with compassion. Help me be honest and humble, Helping others by leading them to You, So they see their sin. It’s a privilege to lead others to You away from sin, To see them recognize and put away their false gods they have formed from selfish desires. Help us see false gods for what they are—powerless. Help me not be judgmental but concerned and helpful. Thank You for the privilege of sharing the truth in Your love. Thank You for others sharing the truth in Your love, So I knew right from wrong and chose to walk away from sin. Help me to not be haughty but full of earnest love, To point others, all others, to the one, true God, You. Amen.
A Prayer for My Lost Daughter Please God, give me the words to speak, write, text, And the right manner in which to deliver them. Please prick her heart and cause a hunger for You. Cause her to search in the right direction to seek and find You. Please keep her safe while she puts herself in grave dangers. Please God, save her soul and heal her wounds, Renew her health and put her to service, Leading others to You, to the truth, Out of the darkness of sin. Please prick her heart; open her heart and mind to You. Clean out all the idols including herself. She struggles with control more than anything. She has refused to submit to You. In rebellion, she has forfeited joy, peace, comfort, and truth From a right relationship with You. She has determined to go her own way And has deceived herself to think in this she has control And will attain happiness and purpose. She has tried many things to alter her mind and attain higher thinking. She struggles with wanting to numb her conscience, And it seems to be seared, But I know that You created this precious one for an intimate relationship with You. I have no doubt that You have called her many times before. I also believe that each time she refuses You, it gets a little easier and more automatic. But You, o God, are the God of miracles. You are the One who can save her soul. You saved me long ago from myself and sin. I know I wouldn’t be alive today without Your love, mercy, and grace. You’ve also kept my precious child alive despite her not trusting or serving You. You’ve made her to walk away safely from many Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dangers she willingly put herself in. You, o God, are the only One who can save her from this darkness she has chosen. You alone can open her blind eyes and cause her to see. You alone can save her soul. You alone are God. I want her to know You, cling to You, love and obey Your ways, To live for You and testify of Your great love. You alone are God. You alone have the power to save. You’ve placed me in her life to lead her to You. Guide and bridle my thoughts, words, and behavior to obey and accomplish Your will. To You be all the glory and honor forever. Amen.
Thankful to Be in God’s Loving Hands Dear Heavenly Father, I place it all in Your hands. You formed every cell. You knit me together in Your perfect love. Though my body seems incomplete and incompetent, It is made perfect in Your love. Too easily I get caught up comparing myself to normal, Knowing it breaks my heart and leads me away from truth. The truth is that You are the author and finisher of my faith. You are also the author and finisher of this body and my story. You lovingly hold me in Your hands and quiet my fears. You tell me to focus on You while not being ignorant of obstacles And what I can do to strengthen this vessel. You tell me to seek You above all else, to live in righteousness and truth, To by holy, kind, compassionate, and patient with others. You calm the storm of selfish indignation When I am angered because others don’t understand, When they gossip and misjudge me, You remind me of Your love. You remind me that I am loved, not forgotten, and never forsaken, Not even in how I am formed. You soften my heart to pray for those who hurt me and wrongly accuse me. You remind me their wounds are different than mine but altogether as important. You lovingly knit me together in my mother’s womb, Deficiencies, incompleteness, and all. You knew exactly how I needed to be formed, what deficits were needed, To effectively draw me near to You. I’ve tried so hard to do life for You, And You’ve taught me that I cannot do it without You. You want to be considered and included in every detail. Your love is in the details, those of addition and exclusion, For it all comes together perfectly to show Your perfect love. I am imperfect; my body is imperfect. In You, I am perfectly at peace. “Peace. Be still,” You gently remind me. You whisper Your love as I hurt and feel like a burden. You assure me that even in my pain, I am never alone. Thank You Lord God, for Your love, Your presence, Your comfort, and Your joy. I pray that with all that I am, I will always actively choose to be a vessel that lives to honor You and obey You in all things. I leave myself in Your hands. Amen
Progress in My Prayers Dear Lord, at the end of the day I am exhausted, and I look around to see so many things left undone to carry over to the next day. I try to sleep, but my mind races and even my dreams exhaust me. I awake to another day already feeling drained and defeated. I am afraid that I am growing numb to all I need to feel, know, and do. You said in Your Word that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. You said that I can come to You for rest. I don’t know exactly what else to do but pray, so here I am Lord. I ask You to please meet me here, while I am on my knees seeking not only Your rest but also Your wisdom in how to structure my day to accomplish what You have for me to do. Give me joy in giving of myself to my family and others You’ve carefully placed in my life. Give me strength to continue giving when I am tired knowing that You will fill me again.
Dear Lord, since I have been making it priority to meet You here each morning, I have had greater peace, no matter the chaos around me. Thank You Lord. I think I am learning the difference that acknowledging and desiring Your presence makes in my life and in the lives of those around me. I still have the same responsibilities as before, but somehow I don’t feel so defeated. Help me Lord to not feel overwhelmed, as I know with You I am able to handle all that You allow to come my way. Help me never try to do life with You in my back pocket ever again. I know that I need You guiding me every step of the way, so I will not make the wrong choices.
Thank You Lord, for all the amazing things You are showing me. You are waking me up to Your goodness surrounding me! I feel excited to make time for my family. Time alone with You is a privilege I never want to take for granted again. I didn’t think I could be happy without my situation improving somehow, but You showed me that my situation didn’t need to change, that I am the one who needed to change. You have shown me the blessings in all my daily doings, that they aren’t unimportant time wasters keeping me from my real purpose; they are part of my purpose. You designed this life. Help me see what I need to do with enthusiasm and what I need to let go of. As I have spent more time with You, I realize that my time on my phone is more purposeful. Instead of scrolling aimlessly on social media, I prayerfully seek to encourage others and point them to you. Thank You for sharpening my use of the time You graciously give me each day.
Dear Heavenly Father, You are so good to me. I can never thank You enough for all the good things in my life because of You, but even more than my wonderful family and friends and the blessing of my job, I want to thank You for who You are. You are more than my Savior, Heavenly Father, Mentor, and Guide. You are the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Creator of the universe. You created me. You came to earth as man and died for my sins. Your power and love trump all else. Anything You allow in my life, seemingly good or bad, is to draw me closer to You. More than I am thankful for Your blessings, I am thankful for You. Please help me guard my heart and mind; help me make wise choices about what I allow to affect my thinking and how it affects, because I know that I am surrounded by evil that is cunningly trying every moment to pull me away from You. Only when I am close to You do I see things as I should, and even then, because I am human, I am still prone to err. I don’t want to bring dishonor to You by anything I think, say, or do. Thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness when I do sin. Thank You for showing me the error of my way and for drawing me back to You when I go astray. Help me grow wiser with Your discernment, so I am not so easily fooled by the evil surrounding me.
Dear Heavenly Father, Your will is best, better than anything I can seek on my own. Help me not be deceived by my own fleshly desires to follow something that is not Your plan for my life. I know that man plans his way in his heart, but You establish his steps. I don’t want to dishonor you with my plans. I seek to make every step rightly as directed by You. You don’t maliciously hide anything from me, but I know that my human thinking gets mixed up in my desires and all the world around me. Please God, help me stay focused on You, so I will walk in the right direction. You tell us to not let Your words depart from our eyes, to keep them in our hearts. I know that You will establish my path as I continue to focus on You and learn from You in Your Word. Thank You for Your book of life that guides me and strengthens me to follow. I understand that You may not show me the whole picture at once, and I know that is for my good to not see it all ahead of time. You give me the direction I need when I need it. Help me focus on You to know, trust, and obey Your directions. I realize that You will not give me further directions for my journey until I obey in faith those You’ve already given.
Dear Lord, I am finding joy in learning from my mistakes. I am thankful for Your grace that covers me. I wish that I never sinned, but I know that You, Jesus Christ, died for me, for us all, knowing that we would mess up even after trusting You as our Savior and Lord. Those who don’t know You as their personal Savior and Lord are missing the abundant life they seek. Ironically, we can never have the joy, peace, purpose, and abundance we seek apart from You. And only in You do we fully understand what those things really are. Your definitions of joy, peace, purpose, and abundance are not the same as what the world teaches. The enemy of our soul wants us to believe that we need to empty ourselves and search within ourselves for meaning and life. Your Word teaches us to focus on You, to think on things that are lovely, pure, just, honest, and of good report. Help me not misunderstand what things fit these criteria from You, not the world. We are to keep our minds and hearts full of what is good, so bad things cannot come in and take over. When a person is saved from sin, he must focus on You and fill his mind and heart with Your Word, else he gets sidetracked and confused by the enemy. I fix my eyes and heart on You and will fill my mind with Your Word to keep me straight. Dear Heavenly Father, the enemy of my soul is the ruler of this world. I am in this world but not of it because Your Holy Spirit is within me, guiding me and strengthening me to live holy while I am here. I still am subject to human error, vanity, and pride. I know the best way for me to avoid these enemy traps is to focus on You, Lord. You saved me from sin for me to live pure and honor You, not to fall back into the pit of the enemy who hates my soul. Your Word teaches that he is the prince of the power of the air, the ruler of this dark world. Daily, I am bombarded with his campaign telling me that I am enough, that I can and should create my own destiny, that I can rule my day and live my dream life. He steals Your words of joy, peace, purpose, and abundant life and twists them into something tantalizing but dripping with sin. Millions fall daily to these lies he parades all around us. He even parades as Your church selling these lies. Many Christians are confused and see others living inside these facades and think they must be from You. Oh Lord, give us eyes to see. Help us turn to You, the only way we will see things for what they really are. Help us come humbly before You with no objective of our own. Help us lay down the things this world tells us we need, deserve, and should seek. Help us each one look to You, the author and finisher of our faith, the One who created us for Your good pleasure and our purpose to do what is right and honor You. The truth is in Your written Word. Help us not look around at one another where we will get confused about what is right, lovely, just, holy, and pure. Help us daily seek Your wisdom in Your Word and on our knees before You. This alone is where we will have victory over the enemy of our souls.
